Dear Greens,
On February 27 2003 when Sherman Lee filed papers qualifying him
as the Green candidate for governor the Campaign promised to mount
the largest grassroots campaign the South has ever seen. We do
intend to do this, but we desperately need your help. Below you
will find a list of things that you as an individual can do to
get involved in the campaign to lend your support.
1. Contribute $ - Up to $200
Unfortunately campaigns are not
publicly financed - Yet! We need money to travel around the state,
pay for campaign materials, i.e. bumperstickers, pushcards, yardsigns,
etc.
2. Write
a Letter to the Editor
This would be one of the most helpful things
you could do. From your heart tell the folks in Mississippi why
you are voting Green/for Sherman Lee, relate it to a current event
or an article that has been in your local paper. We need all the
press we can get considering the heavy emphasis put on Republicrats.
3. Donate Stamps
It's almost as good as money. We
will eventually be sending out a mailer to inform people about
the campaign.
4. Put a Bumpersticker on your vehicle
5. Tell Five Friends (or more!) about the Campaign
6. Host a House Party
A fun fundraising event, as well
as, a way for non-Greens to meet Sherman Lee.
7. Give us contact info for five friends.
We need to tell as many people as
possible about the Campaign.
8. Attend a Campaign Workshop
The Green Party of the United States
has contacted us about doing a campaign workshop. We are looking
at dates in June or July.
9. Register Someone to Vote/hold voter registration
drive.
People are apathetic about politics
b/c they feel that politicians are unaccountable. Green candidates
are accountable. There is hope!
10. Camapaign Door-to-Door
This will come a bit later once
we have information to pass out.
11. Help w/Phone Bank
This is where the contact information
is key.
12. VOTE FOR SHERMAN LEE DILLON! HOORAY!
